Cary Luxury Porch with Eze-Breeze System

“Outdoor Living Without the Bugs or the Chill.”
Award-Winning Outdoor Living Project

A Brief Overview

This award-winning renovation transformed an underused deck into a cozy, mountain-inspired retreat the homeowners now enjoy year-round. They came to us frustrated with their old deck, saying, “We never use it—it’s just not enjoyable.” The vision: a warm, rustic escape that felt completely different from their beach house. Comfort and ambiance were key—featuring a vaulted pine ceiling with skylights, a natural stone fireplace with a high-output gas insert, EZE-Breeze windows for all-weather enjoyment, and a music-ready sound system. At the same time, the project included a full kitchen renovation for a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living.

Challenge

The original deck offered little protection from the elements, making it uncomfortable most of the year. The homeowners wanted a completely different vibe—a warm, enclosed, mountain-lodge feel. We also had to protect an existing patio throughout construction. Midway through the build, the tile the client had chosen was discontinued, requiring a quick design pivot to find a perfect match that preserved the overall look and feel.

Solution

We delivered a vaulted, EZE-Breeze–enclosed porch that’s as inviting on a crisp fall morning as it is on a warm summer night. The multi-slide doors connect the porch seamlessly to the newly remodeled kitchen and living room. A natural stone fireplace brings warmth and character, while the integrated sound system fills the space with music. The porch’s generous size allows for distinct lounging and dining areas—perfect for everything from quiet coffee mornings to lively gatherings with friends.

Design

Vision-driven planning for beauty, comfort, and connection.

  • Create a mountain-lodge feel with a vaulted pine ceiling, natural stone fireplace, and warm rustic finishes.
  • Design a spacious enclosed porch large enough for both lounging and dining without crowding.
  • Incorporate EZE-Breeze windows for year-round comfort.
  • Ensure seamless connection to kitchen and living room via 8-ft multi-slide door.
  • Integrate an entertainment-ready sound system.
  • Use stainless steel cable railings to maintain an open, airy feel.

Build

Turning vision into reality—one precise step at a time.

  • Protected the existing patio and landscaping during construction.
  • Installed structural framing for vaulted ceiling with skylights.
  • Integrated EZE-Breeze window system for all-weather use.
  • Built natural stone fireplace with high-output gas insert.
  • Installed stainless steel cable railing system.
  • Finished with rich stains and coordinated trim for a cohesive lodge-inspired look.

Love it!

The homeowners now spend more time on their porch than they ever imagined, calling it their “mountain escape at home.” They love the vaulted pine ceiling, natural stone fireplace, and the way music fills the space through the integrated sound system. The wood-look porcelain tile offers the warmth of natural wood with the durability for year-round use.

Perfectly scaled for their needs, the porch accommodates seating, dining, and entertainment comfortably. EZE-Breeze windows and cable railings keep the space open and connected to the backyard, while the multi-slide doors make it easy to move between porch, kitchen, and living room. What was once an unused deck is now their favorite spot for everything from morning coffee to evening wine—an inviting centerpiece of their home.
